Isn't Spring the best?! The colours and energy of spring are so inspiring to me, especially in this past week or so since the Wild Roses have bloomed and the smell of them is so incredibly intoxicating. If I have to stay home due to a pandemic, this is a pretty good place to be and I'm so grateful for that. That being said, I continue to dream of far-away places with ancient peeling walls and cobblestone streets and these often find their way in to my work. As I work toward my second solo show here on Hornby Island this summer (if we're in a stage of the pandemic where that can safely happen) I am noticing that there are two main themes- the home where I'm happy to be and places that I'm drawn to explore-in my imagination for now and hopefully in reality in the not too distant future.
